Sass Brown is coming to NTU!!

Sass Brown is Resident Director, in Florence, for New York's Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).  Her area of research is in community outreach and ethical design practices in fashion businesses. She has published papers and spoken around the world on the topic of sustainable design.  She is the author of the acclaimed Eco Fashion.
 
Sass joins Future Factory to illustrate how some of the brightest and best fashion names from around the world - such as Philippe Starck, Vivienne Westwood, Katherine Hamnet, and Yves St Laurent - are turning to eco fashion. She will substantiate her claim that “one of the strongest trends in fashion is the expression of ecological, social and community consciousness through for-profit fashion design corporations which have recently moved … high fashion.”

 And for SMEs and designers there is an opportunity after lunch to explore these aspects more deeply. A networking lunch with Sass and like-minded designers and businesses will be followed by an interactive workshop.  Participants will be challenged to think about how they can review their own activities to ensure that their designs also give back - to the environment, society or the community. 

Facilitated by Sass and the Future Factory team, the workshop will introduce more enlightening examples of change, discuss how such influences can be captured, and provide creative space in a friendly environment to help those new ideas to flow.
